Description
All metal parts of the cell body are made of a bent profile with a thickness of at least 2 mm. All doors of the cell are interlocked so that they can only be opened in safe conditions. Cell service terms are unilateral.
For the safety of servicing and localization of accidents, the "Magnum" switchgear housing is divided into isolated compartments.
The cell consists of four compartments:
- compartment for secondary switching;
- busbar compartment;
- compartment of current transformers;
- compartment for cable connections.
The "Magnum" switchgear cell is a prefabricated metal structure, the component parts of which are interconnected by means of rivets. The devices and fittings of the main and auxiliary circuits are located inside the body.
Specifications
The “Magnum” switchgear cells are designed for operation in electrical installations of three-phase AC with a frequency of 50 and 60 Hz and a voltage of 6 and 10 kV for a system with an isolated or grounded neutral through an arc suppression reactor.

Compartment of secondary connections
The compartment houses the secondary circuit equipment: microprocessor protection units, circuit breakers, relays, terminal rows, signaling equipment, etc. On the door of the compartment, as a rule, there is a block of microprocessor protection, measuring and metering devices, push-button control posts and light- signaling equipment. Interpanel connections of auxiliary circuits are carried out using connectors located in the cable duct in the relay compartment.
Current transformer compartment for cable connections
To connect the cable in the switchgear, a special connection unit has been developed, which is connected directly to the contacts of the TL current transformer using a Raychem RICS adapter (or an analogue).
Main bus section
The compartment contains the busbars connected to the fixed top contacts of the multifunction device. The busbars are made of electrolytic copper and can withstand currents up to 1250 A. The system uses flat buses.
This node is compatible with all RICS adapters. The offered T-shaped adapters RICS for bushing according to the EN-50181 type C (400-630a) standard for switchgear cells with gas insulation for 10 kV involves connecting cables with a cross-section:
- with plastic insulation 25-300 mm2;
- with paper insulation 35-200mm2
Multifunctional device HySec
HySec is a new multifunctional compact device designed for use in medium voltage KRU for secondary distribution.
HySec combines the functions of three devices: circuit breaker, disconnector and grounding switch. The upper part of the unit acts as a switch and consists of an epoxy resin housing containing three vacuum switches. The lower part, made of stainless steel, has the functionality of a switch-disconnector for isolating cables from the busbars and an grounding switch for grounding cables.
In order to avoid erroneous actions of personnel during operational switching during operation, maintenance and repair, the following locks are performed in the cells:
- Mechanical interlocking that prevents the disconnector from opening when the contacts of the vacuum circuit breaker are in the closed position and vice versa.
- Mechanical interlocking of the grounding switch operation when the disconnector is on.
- Electromagnetic interlocking of opening the door of the cable compartment in the presence of voltage on the input cable.
Additional locks are optionally available.
Safety and reliability Ease of operation
Mechanical and electromagnetic interlocks are performed in the cells to avoid erroneous actions of personnel during operational switching during maintenance and repair;
